Areeb Technology Attends the ECRAiL Symposium & Employment Fair
Jun 27, 2026
On Saturday, 27th June 2026, amideast Egypt invited the CEO of Areeb Technology, Dr. Maged Gebriel, to their ECRAiL Symposium & Employment Fair. The major objective for the invitation is to contribute to a panel discussion that carried the title “Next-Gen Capital: Building the Tech Workforce for Global Market Success.”
During the discussion, Jerrold Frank, the regional English language officer at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and the panel moderator, asked Dr. Maged:
"What are Egyptian tech companies doing with AI today, and where's the gap between the vision and the ground reality?"
Dr. Maged started the response with a question that drives the attendees' attention: "Have you felt excited the first time you used AI?" Encouraging them to raise their hands and engage.
In addition to excitement, as a first impression, Maged referred to another emotion that builds gradually in the workplace; it was fear!
"Are we going to be replaced?" A question that pops up in the employees' minds. While employers will have concerns related to quality and data privacy.
Then Maged clarified the mindset that Areeb Technology has adopted, and every business should adopt, when utilizing AI. Eventually, AI should not replace employees; it should fill the gaps that a business suffers from on a daily basis. **"What are the repetitive actions that consume time and do not need strategic thinking?"
So, AI turns out to be a smart assistant who needs an experienced human to assess its deliverables.
"AI has become part of the operations of every process; software development, content creation, and analytics," Maged added.
AI supported Areeb's agile environment; it enhanced the fast-paced processes and added a new concrete basis to them. So, the start-to-finish cycles have become shorter, where months have turned into weeks, and days have turned into hours.
Dr. Maged has also pointed out a smart notice, where some employees in work environments would like to stick to the old traditional methods they are used to. So, if managers didn't act quickly and put AI into their strategy and workflows, their company might turn into another Nokia collapse case.
"What's the one policy or infrastructure change that would unlock the most growth for the sector"
Maged's answer to this question was insightful, where he found timing as an important factor that tells us if the change is a success or a failure. Before making the decision, the one in charge should fill in the right boxes, or he'll suffocate the ecosystem. If a decision is made too late, the business will be left out, and everything will get out of hand.
The one infrastructure change needed to unlock growth through AI could be a subjective value, like building trust with this technology. Trust becomes a common currency that every party exchanges with another. A company won't use AI if they don't trust the framework the tool adopts, similarly for investors. Also, individuals won't use the tool if they don't trust the privacy limits. Lastly, employees won't trust AI if they don't believe that it's an empowering asset.
In light of this topic, Maged stated: "We need a national AI enablement infrastructure, supported by the government." This idea will surely have benefits:
Better data privacy regulations and compliance.
Robust cybersecurity systems that support the service provider and customer.
A more affordable cloud accessibility to the SMEs and startups.
"What is the single most critical thing our graduates need to bring to the career fair today to stand out?"
Maged delivers golden advice to younger generations; undergrads and fresh graduates, telling them that relying on university studies is currently not enough in a rapidly changing landscape. "What makes you stand out among your peers is your growth mindset and the extent to which you can learn and develop. Try to showcase your ability to solve complex problems, as it's the key to success in technology."
